July is Parks & Recreation Month!

For the month of July we will be reading Gordon Parks: How the Photographer Captured Black and White America by Carole Boston Weatherford, illustrated by Jamey Christoph. Bookworms will learn about Gordon Parks, his photography style and his influence on documenting issues of civil rights, poverty, race relations.

Visiting Literacy Artists will facilitate a photography workshop where bookworms will have the opportunity to explore the park and neighborhood like Gordon Parks.
